Improve your results with our Signal Enhanced ATR Crystals
By adding photonic microstructures to the surface of our Universal ATR Crystal, we are able to achieve a significant signal enhancement.
The product is still under development.
The patent-pending microstructures on the surface lead to a better signal-to-noise ratio and enhance the IR signal. The result is a higher absorption and thus more distinct peaks.
On the picture you can see a blood cell lying on top of the structures. This filter effect is another benefit of the Signal Enhanced ATR crystal.
The microstructured surface of the crystal acts as a plasma filter and separates the blood plasma from the blood cells.
Due to the low penetration depth of the infrared beam, only the separated plasma between the microstructures is visible in the spectrum. Centrifugation is therefore not necessary.
